Good Afternoon. My name is Colette Lewis and I am currently a senior at TMC-Blue Ash and only have 5 more classes left to complete. I could not be more excited about this accomplishment. I am a mother to two wonderful children Camille (7) and Caden (6) and be married for almost ten years. I currently work for Macy's Inc. in the Consumer Insights & Strategy department analyzing customer feedback.
ReplyDeleteCollette, you and I share the naming of our kids with the same letters. I see you chose "C"; my daughters are Kathryn Lynn and Kristine Leanne. I stuck with the "K" and the "L".
DeleteColette- I know you and I are on the same page about accomplishing this goal with school! Our lives are crazy, so I think we are ready for some normalcy in our lives! You are a great mother and a hard worker, so I know you will go far in your career!
DeleteLorain - It is actually a long lived tradition in my family (70 years). My grandparents names were Charlie and Carol. All seven of their children's names begin with C's and the majority of my cousins carry on the tradition. It's fun, to see what new C names evolve over the years.
DeleteDo you know there is a beer named Colette? It is a "farmhouse ale" made by the Great Divide Brewing Company......
DeleteI started a new tradition in the naming of our children. They all share the same initials: NRB, Nicholas Ryan, Nathan Robert, and Naomi Rose. We thought it would be cool for them to all have something in common. I love that your family participates in the tradition, very special!
DeleteI hope that someone in Macy's leadership team opens their eyes and acknowledges your true value to the organization. Don't lose sight of your goals and continue to do what you do best...Excel!
DeleteColette I am really glad we met, and that we will be done with all this craziness soon. Looking forward to May, but it's probably short lived, as we know there is no end to learning.
DeleteI am the New Business Manager and Annuity Specialist for a client centered legacy/financial planning firm in Cincinnati. I currently hold my FINRA Series 6 registration and my state of Ohio insurance license. I am a senior with only five courses left to graduate in May of 2015. After graduation, my family and I are taking a two week vacation to our favorite little place in Cozumel, Mexico to dive. Once my bachelors is complete I will be sitting for my series 7 registration, and then working towards my CFP examination both of which require as strong knowledge and implementation of ethical behavior. I plan to work until I am 60-65 while bolstering my retirement plan (because we all know that most people under 45 can’t count on social security). When I retire, I will move to Cozumel and open a dive shop.
ReplyDeleteThree things you may not know about me:
My husband and I are avid SCUBA divers, a love we hope to pass on to our son.
I am very passionate about my church and its volunteer efforts in the Greater Cincinnati community. As an involved member of Crossroads Community Church, I spend many hours on volunteer planning teams such as Go Cincinnati, The Thanksgiving Food Drive, and other volunteer efforts.
I have a great affection for the arts. I appreciate all types of music, art work, sculptures, written work and dance. I personally love to draw, read, write, sing, and dance. I am currently taking Latin dance classes and enjoy Zumba as a form of exercise.
Kimberly, I cannot wait to walk with you. It's been awesome having you in my group. I never knew you loved to draw, sing and dance. You'll have to show me some of your artwork.
DeleteLorain
Lorain, I agree, I think I have only heard about scuba diving, zumba, volunterring and her son! :-) Learn something new every day.
DeleteKeep on keeping on Kimberley! Good luck with the exams you are studying for work!
My name is Lorain Cooper. I am a wife, a mother of two daughters and three step-sons, a student at Thomas More College and an executive at my company. My expectations for this course are to obtain a basic knowledge of the theory of business ethics to provide a basis to build upon for my professional and personal life.
ReplyDeleteI am currently fulfilling a personal goal by completing school. My graduation date is May 2015 and my intentions are to take a well deserved vacation afterwards. My five year plan is to move back to Florida where I am from, and move to the gulf coast with my husband. We enjoy warm weather and the beach, so we are excited to have this in our plans for the "good life".
Ok well I am jealous! Rob and I would love to move to Florida some day also. My thirteen year old put the smack down on that right now! :)
DeleteYou are a great business woman, and have accomplished a lot professionally!
Florida sounds beautiful and a great opportunity. I hope your five year plans pans out for you.
DeleteTake me with you to Florida, I am done with this weather! I am glad we are graduating together. Can't wait to have a life again.
DeleteHi! My name is Maura Tipton. I have been married to my husband Rob for eight years, and I have three children: Taylor (13), Payton (3), and Finley (7 months). My kids love to keep me busy :). My daughter Taylor has recently made select volleyball so it should be interesting trying to keep up with that as well!
ReplyDeleteI am currently a Senior at Thomas More College, and have five courses left in order to obtain my degree. I went back to school for myself and to show my children what commitment is.
I am employed with Fifth Third Bank and I work in the Risk/compliance department. I feel I deal with ethics pretty consistently in work by reviewing other employees work and deciding if they made ethical decisions. My long term plan is not with Fifth Third, it is to manage Real Estate offices (I was previously in Real Estate for eight years but switched to help pay for school and to have a better schedule with young children).
I look forward to crossing "going back to school" off of my lists of things to do, and to start on my next goal which is to "run a marathon".
Wow, running a marathon will need just as much commitment as school! But after getting to know you for a year I am sure you will accomplish any goal you set for yourself. I have enjoyed getting to know you!.

ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Sean Blahnik, I have been employed by Walgreens co. for nine years. I have also bounced around from many degrees over that time as well. I have studied thing from Bio-Chem to English Lit. and I am happy to finally be nearing the end of a degree program. My view of the "good life" is the ability to look in the mirror at the end of the day and be proud of who you are and what you have done.
ReplyDeleteWell hello everybody. It is me, Jeremy. I am a little late to this post, but I made it. I am a country boy from southern West Virginia who happens to have a lot of soul in him (like the Godfather of soul Mr. James Brown) Good God Ya'll. I just happen to have spent most of my life in Cincinnati. As an 18 year senior I sure do hope to finish this degree next spring. I am recently unemployed, so I should hopefully have time to double up on some courses. Looks like I might just roll right into a masters program at U.C. I am currently living "The Good Life." My short term goal is to support my fiance 100% in her latest career endeavor, and associated educational goals. My goal is to live a life that is balanced with love, health, family, friends, nature, adventure, excitement, and generally just being a good person. I thrive by helping and watching others succeed. My career goals include a few start up business ideas that I am currently working on. I see myself working multiple jobs at one time. The daily grind at one place of employment is just not for me. I do not ever see myself retiring. My brain is always spinning, so I am sure that I will always be working on some kind of hustle (not in a derogatory sense). I think it is foolish to wait for retirement, so you can be free to do what you want. I am going after that lifestyle now. You never know when your card might get pulled....... Plan for the future, but ya better live in the moment!
ReplyDeleteI think you will definitely accomplish great things in life! You have the personality, drive and brains to make it happen. Good luck in your future endeavors and cheers to embracing the now!
DeleteHi, I'm Debbie Baumer. My husband, Jason and I have 15 years under our belts. We have three awesome children: Nicholas (13), Nathan (7), and Naomi (4). I'm a senior at TMC and plan to graduate in May 2015. I've been employed with Kroger Co. for 12 years. I currently work in the Inventory & Replenishment department. I enjoy analyzing data and would love to secure a position with Dunnhumby in the near future.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - All your children's name begin with N's. Was that done for a reason, or did it happen after you named your first child?
DeleteI always come to the table with a full plate. I feel like if I am not constantly buzzing around with purpose, I will become complacent in life. I want to make sure I am consistently creating a fun balance between work and play. I have just taken on a new career path in employee benefits with HORAN Associates. I am loving the ownership of my new accounts and the self-worth I feel in the new organization. I enjoy classes that will tie into what I am doing in the office and vice versa. I hope to use information through this course in future encounters at the office/ life.
ReplyDeleteI have a 12-year old (going on 30) daughter, Kaeli, that keeps me busy and reminds me how to stay young and vibrant. She has played a leading role in my successes and is a constant reminder to stay positive through life's challenges. I am currently working towards a sales management role within HORAN in the next 2 years, keeping a good relationship with my daughter through her tween/teenage years, and developing a girls youth golf program in the near future.
Hollie - You definitely have been a joy to get to know. I will definitely miss seeing you on Monday nights. I hope this new career is rewarding and you accomplish great things with your life.
DeleteHey Hollie. Keep on keepin on. I like the 2 year goal. Gives you time to learn the business, and the 2 year time frame should keep you driving forward. It seems as if you really like HORAN other than that one chick.... Truly enjoying your work is an absolute must. The fun balance is imperative to long term happiness.
DeleteHello, I'm Steve Katenkamp. I am a college senior at Thomas More. I'm excited to close this door and finally finish my college degree. I work as a electrician for a company called Atkins and Stang. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and animals.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to finish my degree as this is 25 years in the making. First time I began at UC, the second time at Thomas More Crestview and the third at Thomas More Blue Ash. My third try is the charm. My career path is a big zig zag because I have a short attention span and when I am not challenged I move on. What I am doing on a daily basis has to mean something to me and has to have a learning component. I am not fulfilled unless I am growing and changing as an individual. As far as my personal life, I miss volunteering and look forward to begin volunteering again after we graduate. After graduation I also look forward to finishing my personal goal to spend one night in every state. Once I complete the last 13 states, I have not decided what will be next but cannot wait to see where life takes me next. One thought I have is to possibly move out of Cincinnati because I feel as though my personal development is lacking with regards to moving somewhere and not having a safety net. I feel as though Cincinnati is so small and it is hard for me to go anywhere and not know someone. On the other hand, it is comforting to know the city like the back of my hand and can always find someplace new to explore. I love my life and have no regrets and can always find the entertainment value in anything I do!
ReplyDeleteHow about travel to different countries, when you mark off the states?
